Why I Canceled Netflix And What It Says About America

Hey America, let’s get real for a minute.
My family just canceled Netflix. Not because of the cost, not because we don’t enjoy a good movie night, but because I realized something disturbing: what used to be entertainment has quietly turned into indoctrination.
One night, while scrolling through social media, I came across a clip from one of Netflix’s “children’s shows.” Within seconds, it was clear, this wasn’t about stories anymore. It was about shaping beliefs. Kids were being spoon-fed gender ideology wrapped in bright colors and friendly voices.
Let’s be honest. If your neighbor walked into your home uninvited and started teaching your kids about sex and gender identity, you’d show them the door. So why do we invite Netflix, Disney, and Hollywood to do the same thing, right in our living rooms?
Hollywood’s Hidden Agenda
Hollywood used to tell stories. Today, it preaches ideology. The entertainment industry has become the megaphone for a worldview that undermines faith, family, and freedom, the very foundations that hold our nation together.
C.S. Lewis once warned that “the most dangerous ideas are not the ones being argued, but the ones being assumed.” Hollywood has mastered that trick. They weave radical ideas into scripts and cartoons until they feel “normal.” The goal isn’t art, it’s control.
This isn’t about one show or one company. Netflix is just the symptom. The real disease is cultural decay, a moral virus that’s been incubating for decades in the studios and boardrooms of Hollywood.
They’ve gone from streaming entertainment to streaming ideology. Every “inclusive” storyline becomes another drip of propaganda in the IV line of American culture. And the worst part? We’re paying for it. Every month.
The War for Our Kids
History tells us, every movement that wants to rewrite society starts with the children. Lenin once said, “Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted.” Hollywood knows this. So do the global elites funding it.
They don’t want kids who are rooted in family, faith, or country. They want children who see themselves as global citizens, detached, confused, and easily controlled. That’s why every “new idea” begins in the classroom or the cartoon.
You don’t chop down a tree when it’s grown, you poison the soil while it’s young. That’s what’s happening to our kids.
Hollywood’s Double Standard
And let’s talk about hypocrisy. Hollywood loves to lecture America about morality. while its own house is rotting. For years, we’ve seen scandals, abuse, and cover-ups that prove what insiders whispered all along: it’s not about talent, it’s about what (or who) you’re willing to do for fame.
The same industry that protected abusers now produces content teaching your son he might be a girl, and your daughter that motherhood is oppression. That’s not inclusion. That’s intrusion.
The Real Target: The Family
The traditional family has always been the last line of defense against tyranny, a mother, a father, and children who know who they are. Hollywood knows this. That’s why it’s chipping away at that foundation, brick by brick.
Every time a cartoon character lectures your child on “gender expression,” it’s another strike against parental authority. It’s the state and the studio teaming up to parent your child, while you sit just a few feet away on the couch.
G.K. Chesterton once said, “The family is the test of freedom.” Destroy the family, and you destroy freedom. That’s exactly what’s happening, one episode, one message, one algorithm at a time.
What We Can Do
Cancelling Netflix wasn’t about cancel culture. It was about cultural self-defense. It was about saying no more to paying for our own moral erosion.
Every subscription is a vote for what kind of world our children will inherit. And I’m done voting for confusion, chaos, and anti-family propaganda.
Instead, I’m voting for conviction, for the return of common sense, for the protection of innocence, for a future where our kids can grow up knowing who they are and what they stand for.
A Call to Action
This fight isn’t just about Netflix. It’s about the soul of America. It’s not left versus right anymore, it’s right versus wrong.
If we want to reclaim our culture, we have to start at home, one family, one household, one kitchen table at a time. We have to guard our homes like embassies of truth and sanity in a hostile world.
As I said on The Sholdon Daniels Show:
“You cancel what insults your soul. You support what strengthens your spirit.”
That’s what this movement is all about, rebuilding faith, restoring family, and reminding America that freedom still belongs to the people.
I’m Sholdon Daniels, and this is just the beginning.
