The Past, the Present, and the Future of TX30: Why It’s Time for a Change That Honors Our Roots

There was a time when Black Americans voted Republican—not because of party loyalty, but because of principles.
Responsibility. Faith. Education. Family. Entrepreneurship. Self-reliance. Law and order.
Those were the pillars of the first Black Congressmen, the Black business owners of Freedman’s Town, and the Southern parents who raised us with discipline and hope.
And back then, we made real progress.
We built businesses. We founded schools. We created upward mobility against the odds.
But somewhere along the way, that changed.
Over the past 60 years, as Democrat loyalty became expected in our communities, the returns diminished. We gave our votes year after year—loyally. But what did we get?
In District 30, we’ve had career politicians who climbed the ladder, got buildings named after themselves, and then left the community looking the same or worse.
Eddie Bernice Johnson got a VA hospital named after her—but did it reduce veteran homelessness in South Dallas? Did it get our brothers off the street and into jobs or healthcare?
Then came Jasmine Crockett—a privileged transplant from Missouri who came up in wealth, pretends to be grassroots, and treats the community like a stepping stone. She’s good at Twitter feuds and media soundbites.
But where are the jobs?
Where is the affordable housing?
Where is the crime reduction, the school excellence, the small business boom?
She inherited a platform meant to serve the people, and turned it into a performance stage.
Now contrast that with what I bring:
I’m a homegrown native north-Texan.
I’ve walked these neighborhoods.
I’ve built a law practice from scratch.
I know what it’s like to be underestimated, to fight your way up, and to carry the weight of a family on your back. I’m not here to get famous—I’m here to get to work.
Here’s the vision I bring to District 30:
Safe neighborhoods where law enforcement and community trust each other.
Small business growth, not handouts—mentorship, grants, and zoning reform that makes it easier to build wealth here.
Real school choice and investment in vocational training so our kids don’t end up trapped in broken systems.
Tax relief for the middle class so families can breathe.
And a return to accountability, where your Representative serves you—not themselves.
We’re not going back—we’re going back to what worked.
The truth is, liberal policies have made things worse, not better. Government dependency. Education decline. Economic stagnation. Higher crime. Fewer opportunities. All while a small elite at the top—both Black and white—get richer, get airtime, and leave the people behind.
Conservative policies built the Black middle class once—and they can do it again.
It’s time for a new era in TX-30. One rooted in values, not vanity. One that raises our children, strengthens our homes, and builds toward greatness—not grievance.
If you’re ready to return to what works and reject what’s failed, follow @SholdonDaniels on X and help us bring real leadership to TX-30—for the people, by the people.
