Serve the Ones Who Served Us: Real Help, Not Red Tape, for America’s Veterans

We owe our veterans more than a life on the streets.
We owe our veterans more than a life on the streets.

The flag doesn’t fly because of politicians.

It flies because of veterans—men and women who put on the uniform, stood a post, and gave this country everything they had.

But too often, when they come home, the country they served gives them lines, forms, and excuses.

  • Long waits at the VA

  • Paperwork for everything

  • Housing that's out of reach

  • And job programs that sound good but rarely deliver

That’s not how a grateful nation treats its warriors.

That’s how a broken bureaucracy dodges responsibility.

If elected, I’ll bring mission-focused reform to veteran care—cutting the bloat and delivering real services, real fast.

1. Veterans Deserve Real Healthcare—Not a Waiting Game

Every veteran should have access to high-quality, timely medical care without fighting a system that’s buried in red tape.

I’ll fight to:

  1. Launch a Veteran Fast Track Card—allowing veterans to receive private care at any licensed facility if the VA can’t deliver within 14 days.

  2. Tie VA executive bonuses to performance metrics: wait times, satisfaction scores, and health outcomes.

  3. Expand mental health access, especially for veterans dealing with PTSD, traumatic brain injury, and substance dependency.

And here’s where my Public Health Corps plan comes in:

Every veteran gets access to local Public Health Corps facilities for free basic care, wellness checkups, telehealth, and rehab services—with no copay and no long delay.

If we can build a base overnight in Afghanistan, we can build a clinic in South Dallas. There’s no excuse.

2. No Veteran Should Be Homeless—Ever

There is no greater shame than the number of homeless veterans in this country.

That’s not just bad policy—it’s moral failure.

I’ll push to:

  1. Launch a Veteran Housing Priority Fund—offering down payment assistance, rent vouchers, and repair grants for qualifying veterans.

  2. Make veterans automatically eligible for Opportunity Zone housing initiatives.

  3. Open up federal properties for tiny home communities and transitional housing, run in partnership with local churches and nonprofits.

A veteran who slept in the desert for this country should never sleep on the sidewalk in it.

3. From Boots to Business: Jobs and Entrepreneurship for Veterans

I know personally that veterans have:

  • Discipline

  • Leadership

  • Work ethic

  • Grit

So why do so many struggle to find a job or launch a business after they separate?

I’ll lead the charge to:

  1. Offer federal small business grants up to $50K for honorably discharged veterans launching businesses in underserved areas.

  2. Expand SBA loan forgiveness for veteran-owned businesses that create at least three full-time jobs.

  3. Provide tax-free startup capital for any vet who completes a certified entrepreneur training program.

If you led troops in combat, you can lead a team in business—and I’ll make sure you have the funding to do it.

4. Cut the VA Bureaucracy and Get the Money to the Mission

Right now, the VA spends billions on:

  • Consultants

  • Mid-level managers

  • Department bloat

  • and redundant programs

Meanwhile, veterans wait, suffer, or give up trying to get help.

I’ll fight to support President Trump's agenda by:

  • Audit every VA department for waste and duplication.

  • Eliminate executive-level roles that don’t directly serve patient care, housing, or job support.

  • Create local veteran service liaisons, funded by the VA but embedded in community nonprofits and churches—so real help is local, not locked up in Washington.

Less overhead. More healing. That’s the mission.

WE OWE OUR VETERANS MORE THAN A HOLIDAY AND A HANDSHAKE

They fought for us. Now it’s our turn to fight for them.

That means:

  1. A doctor who sees them without delay

  2. A roof over their heads

  3. A shot at building a business or finding a career

  4. And a system that respects their time, their dignity, and their sacrifice
